Good question! I was not a kid dreaming about future, instead I was always waiting for the good time to come and make a sensible decision. When I started university I thought I would end up working in industry, but my final year research project changed my mind!

My family and I used to go to the zoo a lot and I loved the elephants there! So I always wanted to be an elephant keeper! Then I realised I was much better at chemistry than biology so I was perhaps better suited to a career in chemistry!

Great question, not sure about you, but when I was a kid I used to change the job I wanted nearly every week, but the main ones were teacher, policeman, fireman, doctor and pilot.

Once I actually started thinking about the future when I was in my early teens I always knew I wanted to work in Science.

I was really into dinosaurs as a kid so wanted to be a palentologist when I grew up. I’m not sure what changed my mind as I got older (other than I really don’t like biology, chemistry and physics are much better) but I knew at one point that I really wanted to be studying a combination of physics/chemistry.

As in my profile, at the age of 5 i wanted to be a Ghostbuster! (so, a scientist I guess, given that’s how the Ghostbusters started!), but beyond that, I’m really not sure. I had no clear ambitions, and as I have answered elsewhere, I have only really decided what I wanted my career to be in the last 5 years or so.
