      Hello Qinlan, this is an excellent question! You might think that the planet closet to the Sun is the hottest. That is Mercury. However, the planet Venus is actually the hottest planet in the Solar System and it is the second closest to the Sun. It is a much more active planet than Mercury (Mercury hasn’t changed much in millions of years) which might be a reason why Venus is warmer! : -)
