Black holes come in lots of sizes and the bigger the black hole the stronger its pull is. There are tiny black holes which don’t get noticed, then big ones in the centre of galaxies. So they are strong and pull at the stars and matter that circles around them.

The huge ones with billions of times the mass of the Sun that we find in the centre of pretty much every galaxy. When material falls in it gets so so hot that it makes the material shine so bright that they look like stars. It makes those super massive black holes end up producing more light than entire galaxies filled with hundreds of millions of stars! That’s pretty strong to me

Hi Louie, That’s a fab question! As you know, all black holes are very strong! Like most things, the bigger the black hole the stronger it is. Sometimes, black holes are so strong, passing stars can get sucked in! Just imagine our own Sun being destroyed and how much energy (heat and light) would be involved! : -)
