Most scientists work in big teams from people all across the world, so it’s a team effort, and often we only find things out because there are so many other smart people working on the same problem, but I have helped design satellites that will go to Venus to study what it’s made out of, and right now i’m working with a team to try and figure out how we can send a satellite to Neptune, which is the furthest planet we can get to!

So a bit of backstory: Enceladus, a moon of Saturn has these massive geysers that shoot out water vapor from an ocean deep beneath its crust. (More Info:https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-missions-provide-new-insights-into-ocean-worlds-in-our-solar-system). The Cassini mission flew threw these plumes and found frozen water and salt particles.

One of the things I’ve found is that if there were microbes living in that ocean beneath the crust. They could become trapped inside frozen water/salt droplets and then shot out into space. This means if we go back there with the right bit of kit, we could potentially find life trapped in tiny grains of salt floating around Enceladus
