Gosh – that is a big question! In a few billion years, the sun is going to be old and is going to turn red and swell up and then it will reach as far as the Earth, which will get hot and dry and become a part of the sun. But that is a long way in the future. People are keeping an eye out for asteroids that might hit the Earth, like the one that got the dinosaurs. It could put a lot of dust into the air, making everything very cold, so plants can’t grow and stuff. So that wouldn’t be good but scientists at NASA and ESA are keeping an eye out for them and are working on plans of what to do if one looked like it might hit us. People are worried that climate change is going to cause more and more problems, but the good news is that people, like you and me, can do things to make that better, So hopefully everyone will start being good to the environment, so it will be good to us! 🙂

Hello Giogio, a great question! Let’s hope not! If we ignore the damage that humans are thought to cause on the Earth, the thing that will destroy the Earth in the long run is our very own Sun! The Sun will eventually get bigger and bigger and will eventually explode! That will destroy most of the Solar System! We won’t have to worry about that for millions of years though so try to enjoy and protect what we currently have 😉

If we wait long enough, in principle, all the local structure will end up in a black hole, so yes, but it will take trillions of years. Of course, if we do nothing it will likely be destroyed when the Sun becomes a red giant, or if we do “too much” we might destroy it ourselves…
