We think the universe is about 13.8 billion years old. So that’s 13.8 with nine zeros after it!

Hi Nosike, the universe is very old. Its almost 14 billion years old. That number is quite difficult to imagine! It’s 14,000,000,000 years old! : -)

As everyone else said the universe is really really old, but also, scientists think that time didn’t exist before the big bang!

The best estimate is currently at around 13.82 billion years, and the peak activity of the Universe happened about 11 billion years ago. Most stars in the Universe formed in the distant past.
