• Question: what does it mean saying you're a rocket scientist. I've heard it before but always wondered what it meant.

A “Rocket Scientist” is a scientist (or engineer) who works in the development, design, operation, use of rocket ships to take people, cargo, scientific instruments out into space. Rockets are big firework that we use to throw things off of the Earth’s surface. Lots of complicated design and preparation goes into devising a rocket launch to make sure the rocket goes precisely where you want it to go, how the spaceship flies (orbits) once it is in space, how the spacecraft retains contact with earth, generates power form the sun and keeps itself from getting too hot or too cold etc.
