There are all types of jobs that you can get after studying a science degree. Because science involves thinking logically and solving problems it can be very useful to lots of employers. So if you study a science you don’t necessarily have to become a scientist at a university or in industry. A few other examples are working at investment banks analysing the stock market for example, as a consultant to businesses assessing how they run them and helping to make that more efficient. Really a science degree looks great on the CV and should give you loads of opportunities. Why not look at http://www.physics.org for some more examples.
Just about anything you can think of is associated with science in some way, since science applies to lots of things in everyday life like cooking and gardening. Farmers need to know some science to look after their animals and journalists should know some science so that they write sensible articles.
Of course there are more scientific jobs like Amy, Martin, Shawn, Usman, and I have, where we spend all our time trying to discover how the Universe works. There are so many other scientific fields, like studying you immune system or what the effects of using too many fossil fuels are
There are also lots of jobs in between, where people are doing research for a company that wants to make money. For example lots of people have worked hard so that we have cool touch screens on phones and tablets, and other people have worked on developing drugs that mean you won’t get diseases like polio.
