• Question: What is the strangest living creature you have ever seen?

      Probably a beaver. Mostly that was because I was out walking and heard what sounded like something huge crashing through the trees. I thought it was a bear so was pretty scared and excited (this was in Canada). When it finally came out it was a beaver dragging a small tree! All that noise for an animal smaller than a dog…

      I’d say humans are the strangest creatures. We’re the only ones that wear clothes, build things, transform the environment…. the list goes on. As a scientists I also find the evolution of the human brain fascinating. If you think about it, the reason we developed bigger brains was to out think our predators and thus become the predators ourselves. But evolution took a much bigger leap than that because it gave us a brain that was capable of not only doing that but understanding how the Universe works! I’m glad it did.

      I think it might be dassie, from South Africa! They kind of look like a fat gopher… They look SO cute from a distance, and then a bit more ugly close up, hehe. Took me ages to figure out what it actually was…
