      My gosh, good question!!

I guess I would have been a journalist, try to write for a magazine or something similar – I LOVE writing, and it was always one of my strong points in school. In fact, I am aiming to become a ‘scientific journalist’ once I finish my PhD.

I can’t really imagine ever NOT working in science, I love what I do too much! 🙂

Well I kind of do have another job outside of science, I’m a broadcaster. I love presenting, especially science but also my other passion music. I’m very lucky to be able to do both.

      The possibilities!

I used to work in the music industry as part heavy lifting guy, part lighting guy, and part sound engineer. That was a lot of fun so that might be a possibility. I did get bored of it at the time (which is why I’m a scientist now), but maybe now that I’m older and wiser I’d approach it differently and would keep doing it for longer.

I get a real kick out of taking photographs, I post some of my faves on my website here

Doing it for a job would be really hard work, but a lot of fun too.

Sports broadcaster! I almost went into that career when I was leaving school, but instead decided to be a scientist.

If I had to find another career today, I’d either become a professional blogger or would go into science policy work.
