I’ve only just started my research so nothing that funny or great has happened yet.

I did manage to break an expensive bit of kit the first time I touched it, that was chuckle worthy.

I had to take an experiment over to Sweden so that we could fly it on a stratospheric balloon. We were flying there and had to take the experiment and all of our other equipment through airport security. We were a bit worried and got some funny looks, but they let us through when we explained what we were doing. While we were in Sweden we saw the Northerm lights which was very cool

I was using our research telescope one night and I decided to stretch my legs out. Unfortunately, they hit a piece of equipment and switched it off. That was the clock for the telescope and all the other equipment relied on it. Suddenly all these alarms went off, the path compensation trolleys (which were like model trains) started to move and head back to their “shed”, and the image we were starting to make disappeared. It was 3am and we couldn’t work out what went wrong, but we did wake up all of a sudden! The next day…

I think the best thing that I have done *while* I was doing my research (although it didn’t really help my research much) was to make an amazing cake that showed all of evolution on earth! You can see a video of how we made it and how it looked here!
