      Depends on where you’re looking from. To us, it’s the sun 🙂

      The absolute brightest star in the sky is Sirius, the Dog Star, in the constellation Canis Major, even though its not the closest to earth (if you don’t count the sun). It’s so bright because it is young and burns bright white, and its also only about 8 light years away
