I would choose anything from Symphony of Science, but my absolute favourite is Glorious Dawn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSgiXGELjbc
I know its not a popular sing, but its pretty catchy and it features my favourite scientist in the world, Carl Sagan.

I had to teach about (electrical) transformers once. Yes, I used the (original 80s) Transformers theme tune.

Music from 2001 Space Odyssy I think. I recently did a radio interview which used that to introduce me. That was a bit intimidating! 😉 Actually it’s online – you can listen to it here http://audioboo.fm/boos/626964-talking-about-bbc-stargazing-on-the-bbc-radio-solent-breakfast-show
I was talking about what we did in Portsmouth for the BBC Stargazing LIVE events in January.
Nazim Bharmal answered on 18 Mar 2012:
Something from Holst’s The Planets. Perhaps Jupiter, which is quite a jolly bit of music.
