I found a small, but significant!, feature of talk that occurs in arguments. I discovered a way that people ‘divide’ each other — that is, how people highlight how they are different in their arguments. It’s not very common, but is a way that arguments are caused. It’s called ‘Partitioning’, which basically means the way that people change their relationship with another person by highlighting those differences!
