Being able to find out new information and tell others about what you find. It’s fun to chat to others who do similar research and have quite nerdy conversations about what you have found out and what they think of it.

The people! Scientists tend to be similar: we all have questions about the world and we are all trying to find answers to those questions. It’s great to be a part of a community that is trying to make the world better in some way.

I really like working with other people, either as part of my research or other scientists I meet. I love finding out about people’s experiences and talking to them about things they’re interested in, especially when they’re people that don’t get to give their opinion as often as they should, like people with dementia. And hopefully helping people and making a difference while doing it! I also just really like finding things out and working out how things fit together.
