I graduated with a first class degree. I actually graduated with the highest grade of my entire university school! I got to speak during my graduation ceremony and thank the lecturers because of that.
It didn’t really matter so much — I went on to do my MA in Sociology which required a 2:1 (the grade below mine), and then a PhD and Loughborough didn’t really care about my grades, so long as I had graduated.
I guess, because there are only 4 grades at university (fail, third, second & first), I didn’t really think about achieving a grade — just enjoying studying.
