It depends what subject you want to do and what university you want to do it at, as they sometimes have different requirements. The best thing to do is to look up the course you want to do to see what they say, or talk to your careers teacher if you have one.
To do psychology at York University, I had to have at least one science A-level (I did Biology, Maths, English, & History). But that was about 16 years ago so it might have changed now!

I chose my A-Levels on topics that I enjoyed studying, or what I thought would be interesting to learn about because I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do, or what job I wanted to have.

For me, that was a good decision because it gave me time to figure out exactly what I was interested in. I found out that I actually really enjoyed learning about language through my English Language & Literature A-Level so I then decided to do Linguistics at University!

As for grades, I went to a more teaching-focused university: York St John University, because I loved the smaller feel and more contact time with the lecturers. I think the entry requirements were 3 C’s, or something like that.

It was a while ago, but I think I needed three Bs. What is required depends on the course and university. For example, not all universities require an a-level in psychology to study it at university.
