I think it’s one of the single biggest issues that humanity has ever had to face, and we should all be looking to change our own behaviours (driving less, recycling more etc.) but also challenging systems and institutions (like governments and businesses) to do more to stop pollution (like building more cycle paths and fewer roads).
I think it’s a huge issue and we all need to do more to take it seriously and tackle it. But like Jack said, it’s not just about looking at our own behaviours, but we also need governments and big businesses to take it seriously so they can make the wider changes like changes in laws, the things being made/built, and how we work as countries and as a planet.
How we make changes, and what those changes are, can be complicated and challenging, but we definitely need to do find ways to do it.
It’s awful! I recently became veggie and started watching what I buy now to be more conscious for the planet. As a world, we need to do more about it. It’s also important to recognise that on an individual level, we can help prevent even further damage, but it’s about having a global conversations to big companies who are the worst offenders
We all share responsibility for this, but we don’t all suffer the same consequences. We are lucky to live in a wealthy, educated country where we have access to information about climate change and we can learn ways to reduce pollution. A lot of countries do not have this basic right yet because of their geographical situation they can suffer the most – with tsunamis, tornados, etc. But just because people in other countries aren’t as equipped to deal with the consequences of the climate change doesn’t mean that our actions cannot make a difference.
