Nope! At academic conferences, I have had people come up to me and ask “are you Wignall?” (Because in research, we only really publish articles using our last names). I said I was Wignall and they told me they liked me papers. I’ve also had the opportunity to speak on podcasts and to news around the world about my research.

Probably not — my research was shown on Channel 4’s ‘The Last Leg’, and I help run a small YouTube channel with a few thousand views about my field but that’s it!

I have 1000 followers on Twitter, does that count? Jokes aside, it happens that people know me from Twitter when I meet them in person, but I don’t think it’s famous. I’d say it’s just well-networked.

Nope! I went on the local BBC news once talking about my research, but that’s about it
