Two main ways. One is build the technology, then compare two groups – some using the technology, some not using the technology. You can give them a test, or just watch what they say and do. Then use this to decide who did better. The other way, is build the technology little by little with people you are trying to help learn. So for example, ask a group of school children to help design the technology and keep getting everyone’s ideas (including the teacher’s) on if it is any good. This is called design based research. I prefer it.
i think it already has changed the way we learn, do you use interactive white boards? we only had chalk boards at my school and i never had a laptop until i started university!
