      Absolutely. And it’s not just children now. Before we had calculators, we had to do all sums by hand, even the massive ones. And there are important changes happening now. How much do you have to hand write? On average, people only write about 5% by hand – they mostly write on a keyboard.

      There are big changes ahead in the way children use technology in school. iPads, mobiles are examples. The biggest problems are how do schools afford these things? And how much do teachers need to learn before they want to use these? It is amazing though to think that it wasn’t that long ago that we didn’t have the internet to find stuff out.

      As a scientist of learning, we are always keen to hear what students think learning will look like in the future.
