      Hi molliereardon and jamesbiscardi,

      Three answers – let me know which is the one you prefer:

      1. The politically correct answer: Science that increases what we know so that we can make the world a better place.

      2. The scientists answer: Science that expands our knowledge and understanding of the universe, and our place in it.

      3. The honest answer: Science with lots of big bangs and flashing lights 🙂

      All are true!
