Question: if you are overworked and underpaid, why are you happy - is it becasue you enjoy your job that you're not fussed about being overworked and underpaid?

It’s mainly because I like my job and I have a lot of say in what I do. I should probably revise the “underpaid” bit as I’ve just remembered I answered a question earlier about how much I do get paid – and it’s actually rather a lot. But it hasn’t been that way for most of my career as a scientist – and to be honest, it’s been more important to me to do a job that I enjoy (and that I think is important) than to make lots of money.
The overworked thing is a bit of a problem – mainly because it is myself who decides how much or how little work I do. This makes my family unhappy!
