Question: How much does smoking affect lung disease?
-
anon answered on 14 Jun 2010:
Smoking always makes lung disease worse. in addition, it is a direct cause of lung cancer and COPD (what people call smoker’s lung or bronchitis). If you never smoke you may still get a non-smoking related lung disease (like asthma) but the disease will be easier to manage.
Smoking can cause lung disease and make lung disease significantly worse. Secondary smoke (from other people smoking) also makes folk with lung disease unwell.
