      Hi sparkycvf,

Tough one – we’re getting better at spotting cancers early, and in treating some forms of cancer. But my guess is that it will be a long time before we can effectively treat all forms of cancer. And even longer before we can prevent cancers forming in the first place.

      Hullo sparky
Do I think we’ll ever make a drug that cures all cancers? No. There are too many important differences in the fundamental make-up of the various cancers. However as marianne’s working on this I’m confident that she’ll have cured all the ones she’s interested in by next week. Have you read her answers about evolution? She’s a smartie!
We can cure some cancers already. If you get a cancer early and can cut it out or if it is sensitive to certain drugs then people can be cured. People get cured of all sorts of cancers.
Some cancers behave differently. They either stay quiet and don’t cause any problems until it’s too late to treat them because they’ve moved to other organs or they are resistant to all the drugs we have.

      PS what’s cvf?
