      Hey jellybean11.

      Culturing cells you mean?
      Sometimes!
It can be quite repetitive at times. Also, cells don’t care what time of day or day of the week it is so quite often we have to come and take care of them at weekends – that’s pretty annoying.

However, it’s also quite amazing when you stop and think about it; that we can grow cells outside of the body just on some (special) plastic and giving them some food (we call it cell culture medium).

Different cell types behave different ways; some are very easy to culture (often the cancer cell lines; they grow on/in anything and very fast! Hence why they’re dangerous when they’re inside you…) and some are very picky and difficult and end up dying more often.
