• Question: is time travel possible in the future

      Time travel is very tricky problem. As far as I know is not possible and won’t be possible in the near future.

      If time travel would be possible we would have one of these 2 situations:
      – we could go to the past and change our present and our future –> this means that the reality as we know it is not fixed but could be changed! Let’s say you go back 100 years and kill your own gran-parents, this would mean that you would just disappear instantaneously from the present! And that’s impossible for the principle that nothing in nature is created or destroyed but everything just changes form!
      – we could go to the past and when there’s a change, we would create a parallel universe, identical to ours but different only in the tiny thing that we modified –> this would create an insane amount of universes any time we change a little thing!

      Science is definitely not ready to deal with any of these problems :/

      Technicallllllly we are all traveling in time RIGHT NOW. Every moment we are going 1 second into the future.

      Time travel is technically possible, because of a thing called “special relativity”. It’s a lot of physics stuff that I don’t really know about, but the idea is that if you are moving very very fast (close to the speed of light) then time slows down for you but keeps going the same for everyone else. If you do this for long enough, soon it feels like it’s only been a little while for you, but it’s been a long time for the rest of the world!
      This way you can kind of “time travel” forward in time! But it’s pretty unfeasible to be moving that fast in the first place so that’s why we don’t have people taking trips to the future…
      As for going to the past…I don’t think so. Not yet 😉

      No, if time travel were to become possible in the future, wouldn’t we see lots of time travellers appearing NOW?!

      Because we don’t see time travellers now, I think it’s unlikely that time travel will happen in the future!
