• Question: is it safe to test our medicine on mic before we use them?

      It’s a lot safer than testing it on people first!

      There are a lot of risks with new drugs – we still have so much to learn about how the body works, so it really can have some unexpected effects, either slow or fast.

      So, in order to make sure it doesn’t have huge problems with bodies, we will test a drug on a mouse to make sure it doesn’t accidentally hurt people. There’s still a chance it’s not 100% safe because people are more complicated than mice, but it is a necessary 1st step.
