The answer is yes, you only need to remove one of the three pieces of the fire triangle to stop a wildfire. In fact, this is what wildfire firefighters try to do:
Heat – firefighters often use helicopters and planes to drop water on wildfires, this can reduce the heat and will help them to fight the fires with more water or fire beaters on the ground
Oxygen – by beating (covering the fire), the fire is starved of oxygen, and this can help put out a fire
Fuel – this is the most effective tactic. Often wildfire firefighters will try to remove the fuel ahead of a fire to stop it spreading further, they can do this by using bulldozers or chainsaws, or in some extreme cases they might even burn some of the vegetation in front of the fire. If it has burnt once it won’t burn again!
