Question: Whats the worst case scenrio you have come across while at your job?

Hmm.. getting trapped in the Bishops palace in Wells after doing an experiment was pretty bad cos we had to climb a wall and wade through a moat to get out!

Once the boat broke down in the lagoon and I had to swim back to land, hitchhike back to the research station and then drive another boat out to tow it back!

I got bitten on the bum by a leech in Indonesia tracking orangutans.

One of the worst things that’s happened to me so far was not getting a PhD that I applied for, I really wanted it so it was upsetting that it got given to someone else whose academic record didn’t match mine but they got it because of some department politics.. but as a result I had to get creative about finding the funding to do the work I wanted to do and now I have support from various companies and get a french salary as well as an english one so its worked out for the best!!
