Question: what are those things that look like arms in the 1st and 2nd pics?

Those are big, rubber gloves that stick out of the glove box. You put your arms into them so you can work inside (you can kind of see me with my arms inside them in the second picture). They are sticking out because the inside of the glovebox is kept at a higher pressure than the outside air so if there is a leak then nitrogen comes out and air doesn’t go in.
