  The worms I use are what we call a model system. That means that over time many researchers have used them and as a result we have loads of information about them, like the sequence of all their DNA, the location of all their neurones (brain cells) and information about the development of every cell. This makes them a lot easier for me to work with. In theory I suppose I could use snails or slugs but I’d have to start right at the beginning without any tools to study them.

Question: why don't you use snails or slugs.
