      Hi Evil Mad Scientist
      The immune system is what protects you from infection. It finds and destroys anything that it doesn’t recognise as being part of you. It also protects you from getting sick with the same infection again. Special cells remember the infection so the immune system can act faster when it comes across the infection again. This is why the second time you get an infection it isn’t as bad as the first time.
