      Hey (hey hey),

Being telepathic would be useful, you would always be able to know what someone is thinking and share your ideas, like Professor X. Sadly we haven’t discovered any real telepathy (using only the brain to communicate) yet.

You don’t always need to read a person’s mind to know how they are feeling though – if someone is crying, it’s safe to say they are probably sad.

By paying attention to small details, you can learn a lot about a person, and can know what’s been happening. You might be able to tell if someone is lying, or guess where they have been recently by subtle queues, like the smell of coffee. Sherlock Holmes is great at this – it doesn’t require telepathy, just a lot of attention and thought!

You tell me! (bad joke, soz!)

Whilst we don’t have solid evidence yet, many scientists believe telepathy is a real thing. Sigmund Freud (you may have heard of him) was one of these who believed people could ‘transfer’ their emotions and thoughts to other people using telepathy and even tried experiments on his own daughter Anna!

However, we haven’t been able to prove that telepathy is a real thing because we haven yet been able to find where in the brain conscious and unconscious processes occur.

But scientists have come up with ways of making our computers and machines ‘telepathic’. so they can tell what you are thinking by scanning the brain. These ‘smart’ computers are now being used to help understand how memories are stored: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/science/science-news/7421180/Telepathic-computer-can-read-your-mind.html
