• Question: Do you find your job interesting looking through newspapers, as some people find them boring

      Ha ha. Yes if all I did was look through newspapers that would be boring. Looking at news stories about our health is one of many things I do.

      I also look at new studies published in scientific journals or even posted on twitter to see whether they are good studies or not.

      The other part of my job is that I actually do new research myself. At the moment I am doing 2 clinical trials, one of a medicine to help treat people who have a disease called gout and another trial is in patients who have something called COPD (you can google this! if you like!).

      And I also teach medical students and doctors about how to read scientific studies and make sense of them so that they can use them with their patients.

      Like the name by the way!
