  We collect samples from the placenta as soon as we get it. Some of this we freeze and keep at -80 degrees, but some of it we also fix in formaldehyde (a preservative) so we can look at it under the microscope.

Question: Do you keep the placenta in culture medium or freeze it until it's needed?
