• Question: What has been the highlight of your psychological career?

      Hey Winifer!

      The highlight of my career so far has been my students. I have worked in a lot of universities in England and Scotland, and I am always a really passionate and dedicated teacher. This means I have many students who came to university and found it tough – but began to get better at psychology and get more interested. The students that pass with a grade they are happy with and thank me. Man Winifer, I cannot tell you how good a feeling it is.

      Maybe they will go on to change the world for the better and I got to do one small part to help them.

      My best days at work have been when I have heard from prisoners who I worked with and who have been released. Some people spend many years (20+) in prison before they are released, and while you can prepare people as much as possible for their lives outside, it is sometimes hard to picture how it will work out. So hearing that people are settled, have a job, and are building a new life – that is a really good day at the office, and helps remind me of why we are doing this job. It’s good for them, and it is good for all us in society if people stay crime free after leaving prison.

      Sorry there has not been one 🙁
      But if you miss out the word psychological, then the highlight of my career would be attending International Standard meetings for over 30 years and travelling to meetings in most countries of the world. So this has given me all expenses paid trips to such wonderful places as S Korea, China, Honk Kong, Japan, Australia, every country in Europe, USA (all over) and Canada.
