      It’s true that the male seahorses ‘give birth’ to their offspring, but this doesn’t quite happen in the same way as it does in humans. The female seahorses deposit their eggs in the pouches that the males have. The male carries these around for 9 to 45 days, until they emerge from the pouch fully developed, but very small.
