Let’s start with a misconception first – a lot of people say that our fingers go wrinkly because they absorb water and become swollen. However, this is not actually true – our fingers go wrinkly because it is our body’s response to being in water – it makes our hands wrinkly to increase our grip on things while underwater – surfaces are a lot easier to grasp if we have more surface area on our hands to grasp them with!
