As a hospital junior doctor, I mostly look after children and young people who are staying in hospital for assessment and treatment. In any particular week I ‘d guess I see about 20 to 30 new patients at some point so assuming I’m at the hospital about 40 different weeks in each year. I’d roughly guess I take care of a 1000 people per year (very roughly).

Some people need a lot of care and attention though and some people just need some words of reassurance so not everyone takes up the same about of time!
