Liquid evaporates from Earth and travels up into the atmosphere. This evaporated liquid comes together to form clouds, and when the clouds become very heavy with water, they release some of this water in the form of rain – or, when it’s really cold, snow. The reason rain falls back down to Earth is because of Earth’s gravity.
