Actually, the sea is blue because it is a reflection of the sky!

Visible light is made up of all the colours of the rainbow, and when light from the sun reaches our atmosphere, it gets scattered, and blue light becomes the most visible.

This is why the sky is red at sunrise and sunset, because when the sun is low in the sky, the blue light gets scattered and orange/red light is more visible!
