Plants are so diverse because there are many specific roles in many different environments to fill!

Some plants are good at surviving in deserts (xerophytes) and some are good at surviving in water (hydrophytes). Even in our gardens, there will be some species of plants that have adapted a range of beautiful colours and shapes to attract insects in order to reproduce, while others have adapted to be resilient and grow very fast – we usually call these weeds!
