• Question: what are particals made of?

      Particles are made of…more particles it would seem. This really isn’t my area of expertise and I’m sure one of the other guys can give you a better answer than that.

      Its not really my area either, but I guess it depends what you mean by a particle, but as far as we are aware at the moment the smallest building blocks of matter you can get are Quarks and Leptons. Its quite in depth to understand what these are so perhaps best to have a look online.

      I think you get deep enough and the answer is something vague like “matter” or “energy”. I would understand “matter” to mean “things with mass, and sometimes charge” and “energy” to mean “everything else”! But that’s quite a simplistic view.
