• Question: In the Large Hadron Collider, how do they make the particles in the first place? How do they get them to start going round in a circle?

It starts with a bottle of hydrogen gas. The gas is ionised so that the atoms are charged instead of neutral. They can then be accelerated in an electric field and steered using magnetic fields.
