• Question: How did you get into Forensic Psychology after completing a degree? Did you do work experience with a company or did you just get hired on right away after completing a degree?

I really enjoyed studying forensic psychology in my degree and so decided to do a MSc Forensic Psychology and then a PhD. I went straight into becoming a lecturer rather than working in the field. My interests have always sat within research, rather than working face to face day-in-day-out with offenders in a prison for example. It can be competitive though, so work experience is always useful – I was fortunate to get lots of part time teaching experience whilst I was studying which helped me to get a full time lectureship role.
