When I was at university I first studied English literature in my undergraduate course as I wanted to do something with theatre. Only when I had a module about child language and how language develops, I became interested in psychology and neuroscience. Although I now focus on mathematical development, I still use mo knowledge of linguistics. As a scientists I think I am always looking to learn new things and I am fascinated by how young people learn and think.
I studied physics at university and then went and lived in the Florida Keys for 10 years. It was not until I was 31 years of age when I started studying psychology at A level did I really know what I wanted to do for a living.
