I think that when someone is feeling down or having difficulties, it’s really important that they speak to the people around them – family, friends, teachers, for example. Sometimes just talking about it can take a weight off, and it can help with finding options for further support 😊

If you think you need professional help, please tell somebody, a teacher, a family member, etc. For daily life, I really find that being in nature helps me. I try to get enough time outside each day, and visit a local lake when I can. I hope you are doing okay! <3

I don’t think there’s one single best way, but you could try to think of one or more things to match each psychology ‘approach’. For example…

Humanistic – Am I meeting my basic needs? Am I getting involved in things that help my self-esteem and make me feel connected and accomplished? What step can I take to make my perceived self closed to my Ideal Self?

Cognitive – What thought patterns are stressful/anxiety-provoking, and how can I change those? What is my method of decision-making, and is that causing me stress?

Social – Talking to people about your thoughts, ideas, dreams, experiences, struggles (a range of people too, e.g. friends, classmates you might not know so well yet, adults at home, adults at school)

Biological – Are there any physical symptoms that I should talk to a GP about? Am I getting enough water/nutrition/sleep/exercise/etc? Improving sleep hygiene can be a big help too.

Behaviourist – Observation – what makes me feel better? What makes me feel worse? How can I build positive associations with things that I want to do but are currently difficult?
