Ooh that’s a good question! When I decided to study psychology I wanted to become a clinical neuropsychologist who works with patients with various neurological conditions or injuries. While I was studying I realised that I actually don’t fancy clinical work and that I like teaching and doing research, and so I pivoted towards that instead. But one of the cool things about choosing psychology is that there are so many different areas that you can go into, so you can see which bits you’re good at and which bits you’re really passionate about!
I don’t think I figured out a plan in advance, but my advice is to follow the things that you’re interested in (i.e. don’t do something just “for your CV/application” or “to get a better job”). Do as many things as you can, as long as you’re interested in them, and you will find the right opportunities for you!
