Try and get a feel of what you want to do. If you can, talk to people at the universities and see how they find the course. Definitely visit the universities if you can! Also try to learn how to cook a few basic meals before you go to university!

Try reaching out to some local universities to see whether there are any students that you can ask some questions about their course! Lots of universities will have students who are happy to answer questions to help you decide which subject it is that you might like to do and where you’d like to do it 😊
It can be a big decision, so don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions along the way!

Visit ones you think you’re interested in. You will know if the atmosphere is right for you or not. Don’t be tempted by courses that are intense or have a narrow field. You’ve plenty of time to narrow down what you’re interested in. Pick a course and a Uni that offers you as many opportunities as it can. Don’t forget to look at what else is happening at the Uni’s of your course (outside of your course), e.g. what clubs/societies do they have? Three to four years is a long time to be somewhere you don’t like, even if you love the course. You’re going to be spending a lot of money on your education – make sure you get the most for it.

Explore your options – not all courses will have the same modules/options, but also think about other things you can do at university (e.g. does the university have opportunities to do the hobbies or other activities that are important to you; does it have study spaces that appeal to you / that you can feel comfortable in?)
